REVIEWS

"It’s difficult to choose one thing above all else that makes this production great, but it’s probably worth €15 to see such impressive acting alone. More than that though, it’s a well-worked take on a classic story that stays loyal to Welsh’s original novel.

If you choose to see one thing this week, choose Trainspotting."

★★★★

"Reality:Check Productions has managed to deliver a truly heartbreaking piece of theatre laced with humour throughout. It’s a difficult piece to put on stage and the company has done so with aplomb. Trainspotting a well-crafted piece with some striking performances at its heart and it delivers an explosive story that is impactful today as ever."

Reviews Hub

"A sharp, painfully funny and agonisingly heartbreaking piece... I came out of the auditorium well and truly phased by the intensity of the production; it didn’t feel like watching characters, it felt like watching people, and that is what makes Trainspotting an entertaining but stomach-turning and heart-wrenching piece of theatre."

Sitting On The Fourth Wall

four astonishingly strong performances from one seriously talented cast. Lórcan Strain is remarkable as Sickboy, as is Fionn Foley as Franco, both playing several other characters also. Meg Healy as all of the token women in “Trainspotting’s” all male universe is simply marvellous, investing every moment on stage as if it were her last. Shane O’Regan’s Mark Renton, as well as a handful of secondary characters, is next level staggering, with O’Regan confirming his reputation as one of Ireland’s most promising young actors.

"Choose Life. Choose This Show"

Daily Mail

"Trainspotting may well be uncomfortable viewing but it is necessary viewing. There can be no doubt that the issues faced by Renton et al have certainly not been overcome. Though originally performed in 1994, it is still as relevant as ever and retains an immensely violent, anarchic and charismatic power."
